Youth Clinic

CAQHA will sponsor a Youth Clinic from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, July 12th.  The location is still being determined, email tradingdays@yahoo.com for an update and details.  The cost will be $40 for the day, for riders participating in the cattle work the cost will be $60. Lunch will be provided for the riders.

The Clinic will start with Horsemanship in the morning and cattle work in the afternoon.  For riders not wishing to participate in  cattle work, there will be activities, games and contests.  The cattle work will be determined by the riders; cutting, team penning and working cowhorse are some of the options.

The youth clinic always prove to be both informative and entertaining for the riders and the audience.  Plan to bring the kids (and horse) to enjoy the day. Remember to bring your proof of negative Coggins.  Riders must be a member of CAQHA for insurance purposes – the annual youth membership is only $10.

Be sure to bring water for you and a bucket to fill for your horse – we don’t want anyone getting overheated!

Clinic will cover proper presentation of horse and rider to the judge, as well as how to ride  a good pattern class.

Clinic fee is $30 for AQHA Novice cardholders on AQHA registered horses.  All others $40. 

Clinic is limited to 25 riders, so you are advised to pre-register if you want to participate.  Registrations taken on a first come basis.  For insurance purposes, you must be a member of CAHQA in order to ride in the clinic.  Annual adult membership is $25; youth membership is $10.  You can join at the clinic or download a membership form off this site and send with dues to: CAQHA, c/o S.
